Saunders
Consultancy offers services in educational training seminars,
workshops and conference presentations. The Saunders are well versed
in the areas of character education, relationship skills building,
character-based sexuality education, conflict resolution, marriage
preparation and enhancement, parenting, and leadership training.
Character formation is a lifelong endeavor, impacting and being impacted
upon by family, marriage, friendships, and business relationships.
Relationships are more important and demanding today than ever before,
and to excel in them, we need good character.
We are Alan and June Saunders, a husband and wife team. Our work over
the last decade has brought us into contact with some of the finest
minds in the character education field. Dr. Thomas Lickona, author
of the seminal work on character education, Educating for Character,
wrote the Foreword to Cultivating Heart and Character: Educating for
Life's Most Essential Goals, which was published by
the Character
Development
Group, one of the premier character education groups in the country.
June was a co-author of this book and Alan was production manager.
We have been privileged to present on character education and conflict
resolution at numerous conferences: the U.S. Air Force Academy's National
Character Education Symposium, the National Middle School Association's
Urban Conference, the annual Queens High Schools Conflict Resolution
conference, and the Association of Teacher Educators annual conference,
among others.
We have also worked internationally, giving
workshops and seminars in countries through out the world including,
Australia, New Zealand, Palau, Samoa, American Samoa, the Dominican
Republic, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Hong Kong, China, Russia,
Latvia, Lithuania, the Ukraine, Benin, Cameroon, Democratic Republic
of Congo, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda and Zambia. It is through
these experiences that we have developed a multicultural approach
that can be used in the majority of diverse ethnic and cultural settings
and arenas.

We
emphasize universal principles and core ethical values in the leadership
training seminars we offer to businesses and companies. We highlight
best practices from an extensive array of programs and initiatives
that have been used successfully internationally to develop and
cultivate positive attitudes and behaviors within the work place.
It is through the development of character traits such as mutual
respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, caring, honesty, compassion,
empathy, commitment, perseverance and integrity that successful
relationships can be built.
Because character and healthy relationships skills affect marriage,
our character education consultancy includes marriage preparation
and enhancement elements. "As I have observed many different
couples, I have become convinced that strong marriages are built
on the virtues or character of the spouses. In other words, the
best way to have a good marriage is to be a good person." -
Marital therapist Blaine J. Fowers
Lifelong love is not chemistry. It's not kismet. It's character.
